Municipal documents such as plans, Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks, and strategic plans help guide the Town Council’s decisions and actions. They set out goals, priorities, and agreements that shape how the community grows, manages services, and works with neighbouring municipalities. Together, these documents provide a roadmap for Council’s planning, collaboration, and long-term development.

Municipal Development Plan	View Document	A statutory plan that sets out the municipality’s vision, goals, and policies for land use, growth, infrastructure, and community services. It guides zoning, subdivision decisions, and long-term development within the municipality.
Community Sustainability Plan	View Document	The Community Sustainability Plan plan reflects public input from surveys, workshops, meetings, and strategic sessions. Its purpose is to provide an overview and strategic guidance to help Magrath achieve a more prosperous and sustainable future. The MSP addresses the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association’s five dimensions of sustainability: cultural, economic, environmental, governance, and social, highlighting key responsibilities and opportunities for the community.
Trail Master Plan	View Document	A strategic plan focused on the development, maintenance, and connectivity of recreational trails within the municipality. It addresses trail routes, accessibility, safety, and integration with parks and natural areas.
Magrath-Cardston Inter-municipal Collaboration Framework Agreement	View Document (2020)	A formal agreement between neighboring municipalities that establishes how they will collaborate on services, infrastructure, and land-use planning. The framework sets rules for joint decision-making, cost-sharing, and dispute resolution.
Strategic Plan	View Document (2022-2025)	A municipality-specific plan that identifies priorities, goals, and initiatives for a defined period. It guides decision-making, resource allocation, and performance measurement to achieve the municipality’s strategic objectives.
