Subdivisions
In Magrath, the subdivision process is coordinated through the Oldman River Regional Services Commission (ORRSC). A subdivision is the process of dividing a larger parcel of land into smaller lots, either for development, sale, or other uses. Subdivisions help manage growth, organize land efficiently, and ensure that new lots meet municipal standards for services, access, and zoning. To learn more of what the subdivision process looks like before it starts visit the ORRSC website.
In Magrath subdivisions normally follows these steps:
- Check the Land Use Bylaw to verify whether subdivision is allowed for your land use district.
- Contact a Planner at ORRSC. It is essential that a landowner discuss their proposal with a Planner before submitting an application. The Planner will review site suitability, conformity with local and provincial planning regulations, and can help determine whether additional processes, professional services, or costs may be required.
- Complete the Urban Subdivision Application Form and submit it to the Oldman River Regional Services Commission for review.
