Exploring Magrath

The Jubilee Park Campground is located behind the fish pond just off Hwy 62 to the south of Town. There is a camp kitchen with a wood stove. The Kitchen cannot be booked and is used on a first come, first served basis. Campsites can be booked through Magrath Activity Registration.

• There is no sewer dump on site but there is one located on the east side of Town.

The trail head is located by the campground and fish pond.


Approximately 5.4 kilometers , the trail follows the edge of the canal up to the diversion headgates. At the headgates, the trail switches back alongside Pothole Creek before crossing the creek and returning back to the campground and the trailhead or you can turn west at the headgates and follow the outer loop back.

Alston Scout Park
Location: On the corner of 1st Street West (Hwy 69) and 2nd Avenue North

Baseball Diamonds
The town has 5 baseball diamonds that all can be booked for recreational leagues or for informal games and include:

• North East Diamond Located on the corner of 1st Avenue North and 1st Street East this ball diamond is our biggest diamond and is mainly used by the high school for their home games.
  
• South East Diamond Located on 1st Street East, just north of the school's playground this ball diamond.
  
• North West Diamond Located on the corner of 1st Avenue North and Centre Street this ball diamond is only for children aged 8 and under.
  
• Fish Pond Diamond Located on Centre Street South (Hwy 62), just north of the fish pond, this ball diamond services.
  
• Cook Diamond Located at the north entrance into Town just off Highway 62.

Soccer Fields
The Town has two soccer fields that service our local community. One is located in the centre of town off Centre Street, just north of the pool and arena and the other one; Cole Soccer Field is located on the corner of Hwy 5 and Hwy 62.

Lion's Park
Located on 2nd Avenue South in between 2nd Street West and 3rd Street West.

Skateboard Park
Magrath's Skateboard Park is located north of the school and east of the Arena.

Fish Pond
Surrounded by large shade trees and with the relaxing sound of the fountain, the fish pond is a great location for your family to come and enjoy a picnic. For children 16 and under the pond is stocked yearly with trout by Alberta Fish and Wildlife so they can try their luck at catching their parents some dinner. It is located off Centre Street South (Hwy 62) just South of 3rd Avenue South.
