Tax Instalment Pre-payment (TIPP) Program
The Town of Magrath offers the Tax Instalment Pre-payment (TIPP) Program to help property owners manage their municipal property taxes through smaller, regular payments instead of a single annual payment. Enrolling in TIPP ensures your property taxes are paid on time, helps with household budgeting, and reduces the risk of penalties for late payments.
To participate, property taxes must be in good standing, and this requirement must be maintained for the duration of your enrollment. Registration and payments are managed through the Town Office.
The program runs from January to December each year. Upon enrolment, your monthly tax amount is calculated based on the previous year’s taxes. When tax notices are issued in May, your payments are recalculated to adjust the payment amount for the current year. Each annual tax notice includes a payment schedule outlining your current, new, and January 1st payment amounts.
The Town encourages residents to begin the program in January. If you wish to join at any other time during the year, you must consult the Town Office to determine whether enrollment is feasible on a case-by-case basis.
