The Magrath and District Recreation Committee and the Town of Magrath are beyond excited to announce that a grant application for the replacement of the Town’s swimming pool has been approved. The grant, applied for under the Province of Alberta’s Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) will contribute $472,500 to the project. Pictured are Kristyn Barfuss, Chair of the Committee, and Russ Barnett, Mayor of Magrath, holding the approval letter received from the Province.
Accompanying funding commitments in place from other partners, and the funds which have already been saved and set aside for the pool project, the Town believes that the project is ready to move forward this year. Town administration has started to develop its Request for Proposals (RFP) document for a design/build agreement for qualified contractors to review and bid on. This RFP will be released in the coming weeks once it is finalized, and we will be excited to see what the responses are. It is still very early in the process but Town residents can expect more updates as we make progress on the project.
