The Town of Magrath is seeking applications for one permanent full-time laborer position to work in a team environment and will be responsible for duties as directed by the Operations Manager. Duties would include assisting with maintenance and operation of all Town-owned facilities, including waste transfer station, water, and sewer lines, roads, and parks. There is some crossover work with the associated Parks and Recreation Department as needed.

Preferred Qualifications include:

1. An understanding of the mechanical function of machinery and equipment associated with municipal operations;

2. Construction and maintenance knowledge of roads, sidewalks, and other related municipal infrastructure;

3. Class 3 driver’s license;

4. Willingness to work in a team environment and perform other duties as required;

5. The applicant must be willing to participate in on-call rotations as required.

The Town of Magrath has received notification from Cardston County regarding an important infrastructure project that will impact local traffic and pathways. Please note the following details about the upcoming road and pathway closures: Closure Details: • The road at the intersection of Township Road 55A (4th St East) and HWY 5 will be closed. • The walking path at Range Road 221(our trail on the north end of Town at 4th St East) will also be closed for public safety during construction. Important Dates: • Closure Start Date: Monday, May 12, 2025 • Duration: The closures will remain in place throughout the summer. A reopening date will be announced when available. These closures are necessary to complete vital infrastructure and safety upgrades. Detour routes will be clearly marked, and we kindly ask that all travelers plan, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time when needed.
